Shots Fired At Tow Truck Driver After Vehicle Impounded

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — A tow truck driver escaped injury after someone fired several shots following a dispute over an impounded vehicle.

Colorado Springs police say a man who claimed to be the owner of the vehicle saw it being towed and asked if it could be released early Saturday. The tow truck driver refused.

Authorities say after the tow truck pulled into an impound lot, a vehicle pulled up to the gated entrance and someone fired several shots.

Authorities say no one was hit and the vehicle sped away.

The tow truck driver chased the suspects and after cornering their vehicle, the suspects tried to speed away and hit the tow truck. No one was injured.

Police say they found the abandoned vehicle and a semi-automatic rifle, but no arrests have been made.
