Sheriff: Woman Kidnapped By Armed Man In Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - An armed man kidnapped a woman in Adams County on Friday morning and is still at large, the sheriff's department said.

At approximately 10 a.m., Timothy James Montoya forced the victim into an SUV, sheriff's officials said, in what they believe is a domestic violence situation.

Police said witnesses reported seeing the couple arguing in front of their home when Montoya forced Stephany Bauderer into the SUV.

The sheriff's office said Montoya is likely armed. His criminal record includes convictions for drugs, theft, trespassing and assault. He is a registered sex offender.

Bauderer is white, 5-foot-5 and 120 pounds with blond hair and green eyes. Montoya is white, 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

The incident occurred in the 1000 block of West Erie Street, the sheriff's office said, when Montoya forced Bauderer into a 1995 gold Ford Explorer with Colorado plates 845-GWO.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
