Sheriff: Suspect Shot Man During Fight At Ignacio Home, Then Killed Self

IGNACIO, Colo. (AP) - Authorities in southwestern Colorado say a 33-year-old shooting suspect who killed himself after being pulled over by police knew the man he's accused of killing.

The La Plata County Sheriff's Office says Joel Ferguson fatally shot 27-year-old Jake Bramwell several times during a fight at Bramwell's home in an Ignacio RV park Tuesday. About 15 minutes after the shooting was reported, sheriff's spokesman Dan Bender says Ferguson was pulled over by a Bayfield Marshal officer and immediately got out of his pickup truck and shot himself in the head.

He says two handguns were found in Ferguson's truck.
