Sheriff: Inmate Hanged Himself In Boulder County Jail Cell

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a 20-year-old inmate who was found dead in his cell at the Boulder County Jail hanged himself.

The man, whose name has not been released, was found unresponsive and not breathing at about 1:35 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The sheriff's office says deputies assigned to the module had checked on the man about 30 minutes before finding him unresponsive.

The inmate was arrested April 19 and was being held on charges of third-degree assault and failure to comply.
