Sex Assault Case Against Pastor Moves Forward

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - There is enough probable cause against a Westminster pastor accused of sexual assault to warrant the case moving forward, a Jefferson County judge ruled Friday.

Gerald Clark faces five felony counts of sexual assault against children. His alleged victims include three children and two women.

"We let our children around him and trusted him," said Pamela Walters, a former church member who attended the hearing. "It makes me sick to my stomach."

Friends and relatives of alleged victims listened to two Westminster police detectives testify that three underage victims told them Clark had assumed a fatherly role in his ministries. But the detectives said that affection allegedly escalated over a three-year period into kissing, touching and fondling.

"I found out that he wasn't the man that I thought he was, the Christian leader that I thought he was," Walters told CBS4. "That broke my heart. I hope justice is served."

Friday's hearing addressed three felony charges involving children. He faces 10 total counts.

Clark's arraignment in district court is scheduled for July 14.
