Sewage Spills From Manhole Cover Near Horsetooth Reservoir

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- Sewage spilled from a manhole cover in a neighborhood near Horsetooth Reservoir on Monday morning.

A witness told CBS4 that the sewage started to spill from the manhole cover at West County Road 38E and Deer Trail Court just before 11 a.m.

He tried to put the manhole cover back on but sewage erupted and sent the cover several feet into the air.

Poudre Fire Authority crews rushed to the area along with Spring Canyon Water and Sewage.

What caused the issue is under investigation. None of the sewage reached the swim beach at the reservoir.
