Several Communities Begin Their Christmas Tree Recycling Programs

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Some cities and counties on Colorado's Front Range have started their Christmas tree recycling programs.

Lakewood opened its dropoff area at the greenhouse on Yale Avenue Monday morning.

Adams County has also started its recycling program, and Denver's begins next week.

For residents looking to recycle a tree, decorations and lights must be removed.

In some cases the trees are turned into mulch residents can get in the spring.
