Settler's Park In Boulder To Get New Name

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Settler's Park in Boulder will get a new name. The Indigenous People's Day Resolution passed the Boulder City Council late Tuesday night.

The park is located at the mouth of Boulder Canyon. The renaming is part of a bigger plan to rename Oct. 10, Columbus Day, as Indigenous People's Day.

The idea behind the park's renaming is to honor Boulder's Native American and minority history.

Native American tribes will be consulted in determining the future name of the park.
