Setup Underway For 'Star Wars And The Power Of Costume'

DENVER (CBS4) - A galaxy far, far away has arrived in Denver.

Four truckloads of outfits and props from the Star Wars films are being uncrated at the Denver Art Museum as curators set up for "Star Wars and the Power of Costume."

The exhibit is intended to show the historic context of the costumes in the movies.

"The exhibition goes beyond the chronological, literary, or filmic order often used to chronicle Star Wars," the Denver Art Museum posted on their website. "It focuses instead on the creative process, encompassing the essence of George Lucas' vision and the exciting challenge of translating his iconic characters into dynamic reality."

The dynamism is on display in a section titled "Jedi vs. Sith," which shows several of the costumes worn by the actors and actresses - including Samuel L. Jackson, Ewan McGregor, and Liam Neeson - in a fierce battle scene.
