Sensor Malfunction Delays United Flight To Denver Nearly 3 Hours
DENVER (CBS4)- A sensor malfunction caused a United Airlines flight from Washington, DC to Denver to be delayed for 2 hours and 41 minutes on Monday.
All passengers on board United flight 1609 at Reagan International Airport bound for Denver International Airport were forced to get off the plane and be re-screened through TSA.
The re-screening process was prompted by a sensor on the cabin door that went off.
A law enforcement official told CBS that all passengers were re-screened as an abundance of caution because of what was initially called a security issue.
The sensor was found to have malfunctioned. Ultimately there was no threat to the passengers or the plane and the flight was eventually cleared.
The flight departed Reagan International Airport about 7 p.m. bound for DIA.
