Semi Strikes, Kills Cyclist On Rural Weld County Road

FORT LUPTON, Colo. (CBS4) - A 59-year-old cyclist was killed on Friday morning when he collided with an oncoming semi truck.
The crash happened northwest of Fort Lupton on County Road 18, just west of Highway 85.
Police in Fort Lupton said it appears the bicycle crossed the center line and the semi ran the man over and killed him instantly.
An investigation is underway, but it isn't expected the driver will face charges in the accident.
County Road 18 was closed while police investigated the incident.
The name of the cyclist wasn't immediately available.
