Semi Crashes Into Bridge On E-470, Spilling Cheese On Tollway

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A truck hauling cheese was heavily damaged on Monday morning during snowy conditions.

The semi crash took place just before 8 a.m. on the southbound lanes of E-470 in Adams County north of Denver International Airport.

Officials with Colorado State Patrol say the truck hit 96th Avenue bridge and then swerved into the median, breaking the trailer open.

The trailer contained 41,000 pounds of cheese.

The driver and his passenger were not hurt. They were headed to Laredo, Texas.

Police estimate the wreck won't be cleared until midday.

At 10 a.m. one southbound lane was open.
