Semi Crash Cleaned Up, I-25 Reopens At C-470

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4) - A semi crash on Interstate 25 caused major traffic backups Tuesday morning.

The semi jackknifed across multiple lanes of traffic just south of C-470 in the southern part of the Denver metro area.

The crash happened at approximately 4:40 a.m. Cleanup crews had to close all lanes of the highway at 5:40 a.m. The highway fully reopened just before 8 a.m.

Parker police told CBS4 there were no injuries in the crash. The said the truck driver was driving too fast for road conditions and was issued a ticket for careless driving.

The jersey barriers in the median were damaged, which caused a longer than normal closure for cleanup because special Colorado Department of Transportation crews had to be called in.
