Secretary Of State Posts Early Info On Returned Ballots

DENVER (CBS4) - Colorado's Secretary of State is publishing a daily tally of the ballots returned so far in the 2016 general election.

Through Tuesday, according to the posted information, across Colorado, 166,605 registered Democrats and 141,354 Republicans have voted so far.

An additional 103,354 independents have voted, as well as 5,638 third party supporters.

This includes both mailed in ballots and all in-person ballots.

The five counties with the highest returns, so far, are Arapahoe (52,396), Jefferson (51,473), El Paso (51,386), Denver (46,296), and Boulder (28,990).

San Miguel County, which includes Telluride, has reported the fewest returns, with only 36 ballots cast.

Voting results will not be announced until the polls close on Tuesday, Nov 8.
