Search Continues For Missing Father-Son Hikers On Mt. Evans

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The search continues for a missing father and son who went hiking on Mount Evans in April and were never seen again.

Damian McManus, 51, and his son, Evan, 18, were visiting Colorado from Minnesota when they went hiking on Mount Evans the first week in April. Their car was found parked in the lot near the hiking trail head.

Snowstorms struck for several days after they went missing, hampering search efforts and covering clues as to what may have happened to them. Search efforts left crews empty handed.

A team of firefighters from Minnesota traveled to Colorado to search for the duo on Tuesday and Wednesday.

"This family has a huge vacuum, a void they're trying to fill get some closure, and if our experienced guys can go there and search areas that haven't been searched for a while and add that closure, then why wouldn't we do it?" said St. Louis Park Fire Department spokesman Hugo Searle.
