Search Continues For Inmate Released By Mistake

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - The search continues for a prisoner released by mistake from the Jefferson County Jail.

Damon Elliot Slayton, 41, has been free since Tuesday morning after spending nearly five weeks in jail. He got out because of what appears to be a clerical error.

Slayton has a long criminal history, including burglary and robbery.

The Department of Corrections rescinded his parole, meaning he was supposed to go back to prison, not back into the public.
