Scientists Test Water Quality In Cherry Creek

DENVER (CBS4)- Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey took advantage of the heavy rain to get water samples from Cherry Creek in Denver.

They are testing the water quality. The idea is to find out how the environment changes the quality of the water.

"The water can tell us a story of what's happening in the city. It can tell us the story of what's happening in a rural environment. We can make those comparisons and just see what those are," said U.S. Geological Survey scientist Sue Hartley.

The scientists especially want to get water samples during the heavy rain to see how flooding also affects the water.
