More Heavy Weather Possible to End the Week

DENVER (CBS4) - A cold front that pushed through the state on Thursday only dropped the Denver high temperature by 5 degrees over Wednesday's 84: we reached 79 officially at the airport and 78 downtown. But it did spawn some heavy storms well out on the eastern plains. Hail, gusty winds, plenty of rain and lightning as well as a few tornadoes were all the result of the storm activity.

For Friday, more severe storms are possible - but again the heaviest should be found farther east. Denver's high will only reach around 70 degrees. More showers and storms in the forecast for Saturday and quite a bit cooler - we may not get out of the 50s!

Sunday should be milder - a high back to around 70 - with mainly foothills storms. For Memorial Day Monday - just scattered storms with a high in the lower 70s...and little change for Tuesday. Look for mid 70s and scattered storms Wednesday. Then we may stay dry into next weekend: partly cloudy Thursday - a high in the mid to upper 70s; partly cloudy Friday, high in the upper 70s; partly cloudy Saturday, high around 80.
