Scam Tracker Puts Scammers On The Map

DENVER (CBS4)- The Better Business Bureau has a new tool designed to protect consumers. It's called the Scam Tracker.

The BBB takes reports from victims and plots them on a map. The BBB has documented thousands of reported rip offs nationwide.

If someone gets a suspicious email or phone call, they can check the map and see if someone else has received the same thing.

"Scams have been around forever but with the advent of technology they've exploded and we're now using technology to catch the scammers," said BBB President and CEO Mary Power.

Information reported to the site is shared with police.
