Safety Closures On I-70 Slow Traffic In Mountains

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (CBS4)- Traffic in the mountains was slow and go on Friday afternoon because of intermittent safety closures due to winter driving conditions. The Colorado Department of Transportation had closed sections of Interstate 70 throughout the day Friday because of snow, ice and crashes.

CDOT had closed small sections of both directions of I-70 starting Friday afternoon into the evening hours.

The closures included traction laws and chain laws in spots between the Denver metro area and Vail.
