Ryan Seacrest Opening Production Studio At Children's Hospital
AURORA, Colo. (CBS) - Children's Hospital Colorado is teaming up with media personality Ryan Seacrest to open a state-of-the-art broadcast studio in the hospital.
Seacrest is funding the studio in part through his foundation. Seacrest and his family put together a program to help patients find more creative outlets while hospitalized.
The Seacrest Studio will be used to produce material for "BBOY 45," a closed-circuit television channel for the hospital.
Patients who cannot leave their rooms will be able to virtually interact with studio guests and programming.
"We've all been through terrible things," said Riley Ljungdahl, a former Children's patient. "You can show how powerful you are and how amazing life can be by ... interviewing people that you always wanted to meet, kind of showing the world who you are."
The channel is named "BBOY 450" after the hospital's logo, which is a boy with a balloon. The studio will be in the Boettcher Atrium in the hospital.
Lady Antebellum and Rockies baseball legend Todd Helton will join Seacrest to open the studio Friday morning.
