RTD Buses Brought In To Help Keep Apartment Fire Victims Warm
DENVER (CBS4) - Crews are investigating an early Wednesday morning apartment fire in Denver.
The fire happened at the Vantage Point Apartments on Cherry Street near East Mississippi Avenue and South Colorado Boulevard just after 4 a.m.
The people living in the apartments were all forced out of their homes into the cold. Regional Transportation District buses were brought in to help keep the residents warm.
Nobody was hurt.
"Five adults and one child who lived in the two affected units needed Red Cross assistance after the fire, and we provided the families with lodging, clothing, and recovery information," Patricia Billinger with the Red Cross said in a statement.
According to the Denver Fire Department, the fire started on the outside of the building and arson investigators took some samples to the lab for further investigation.
