Rockslide Closes EB Lane Of I-70 In Glenwood Canyon

GLENWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- A rockslide closed an eastbound lane of Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon on Wednesday.

Huge boulders were discovered just after 5 a.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of I-70 about 10 miles east of Glenwood. Two semis were disabled but no one was injured.

Colorado Department of Transportation's Hanging Lake crew was able to move the rocks to one side and reopen one lane of traffic at mile marker 126.5.

There is no estimate on when the blocked lane will reopen.

It is unclear whether overnight snowfall played a role in the rockslide.
