Rockies Take Oral Roberts' Glanz In 23rd Round

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Gavin Glanz is the third Oral Roberts University baseball player to be selected in the Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.

Glanz was selected in the 23rd round by the Colorado Rockies Saturday. A weekend starter in 2014, Glanz' college career culminated with his selection in the draft by his hometown team. The outgoing senior is a native of Arvada, Colorado, and attended high school just 20 miles from Coors Field.

Glanz finished his senior season at ORU with a 3-5 record in 14 starts and a 3.27 earned run average. Opponents hit .258 this season against Glanz, while striking out 50 times.

Jose Trevino was selected by the Texas Rangers in the sixth round, and Jordan Romano was picked in the 10th round by his hometown team Toronto.
