Rockies Agree To 1-Year Deal With Pitcher Jordan Lyles

DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies avoided arbitration by agreeing to terms on a one-year deal with right-handed pitcher Jordan Lyles worth $2,975,000.

The Rockies also announced Wednesday night that they won't offer contracts to left-handed pitchers Yohan Flande and Jason Gurka and outfielder Rosell Herrera.

Lyles began last season in the Rockies' rotation but went on the disabled list on June 1 with a left big toe injury that required season-ending surgery. He went 2-5 with a 5.14 ERA with 19 walks and 30 strikeouts.

In 2014, he was 7-4 with a 5.33 ERA with 46 walks and 90 strikeouts in 22 starts.

Acquired from Houston after the 2013 season, Lyles has a 23-38 career record with a lifetime 5.10 ERA.
