Highway 6 Through Clear Creek Canyon Back Open After Rock Slide

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A rock slide closed Highway 6 through Clear Creek Canyon on Tuesday but it has since reopened.

The rock slide happened a few miles west of Golden on Tuesday morning. The rock slide closed Highway 6 between Golden and the Highway 119 junction near Black Hawk.

Copter4 flew over the rock slide where the rocks had fallen and completely covered one lane of traffic.

No one was trapped and no one was hurt in the slide.

Colorado Department of Transportation crews took several hours to clear the rocks. Crews also evaluated the stability of the hillside.
