Robbers Force Sandwich Shop Employee Into Freezer In Monument

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The El Paso County Sheriff's Department says two robbers forced a sandwich shop employee into a freezer Wednesday morning and made off with about $350.

El Paso County Sheriff spokeswoman Jackie Kirby says the employee spent about 10 minutes in the freezer and was unharmed in the robbery at a Monument Jimmy John's outlet. Kirby says the robbers, who were unarmed, are still being sought.

The Gazette, a Colorado Springs newspaper, reports the employee was told to get in the freezer. She waited until she thought it was safe to leave and when she emerged to find the men gone, she called for help.
