2 roadside workers seriously injured in crash on Interstate 70 northwest of Denver

2 roadside workers struck by car on I-70 near Ward Road in Wheat Ridge

Two roadside workers were struck by a car on Interstate 70 near Ward Road in Wheat Ridge.

They were taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, police say.

Several lanes of eastbound I-70 closed but reopened just before 1 p.m.

The crash was initially reported just after noon. Wheat Ridge police say the drivers who were involved stayed on the scene.

Wheat Ridge police said the driver was at fault in the crash and cited them. No other information was immediately available.
