Firefighters reportedly had to rescue one person from a balcony.

A woman told CBS4 she realized there was a fire when she heard loud screaming.

"I looked out the window, a bunch of people were screaming, 'Get out of the building, it's on fire.' Went into the living room, heard the sirens and the alarms going off, people knocking on doors to get out," the woman said.

Firefighters said the fire was related to cooking. Crews quickly stopped flames from spreading to other units, but eight others sustained smoke and water damage.
