2 people rescued from trench in Colorado construction site; 1 taken to hospital

First responders in Colorado rescued two people from a trench at a construction site on Tuesday. It happened in the morning in the Greenwood Village area south of Denver near Parker Road and Broncos Parkway.

Authorities said when South Metro Fire Rescue crews arrived, the two people were stuck in a 5 foot deep trench on a construction site.

The rescuers needed to shore up the sides of the 10 foot wide trench before their rescue could begin.

One of the people is a construction worker and they were given aid while they were in the trench. That worker was transported from the scene and to the hospital with minor injuries after being removed from the trench. The other person was also rescued from the trench.
