1 Injured As Reported Explosion At Home In Firestone Investigated
FIRESTONE, Colo. (CBS4)- A reported explosion at a home in Firestone was investigated on Thursday afternoon. Police officers and firefighters rushed to the scene in a neighborhood. One person was injured and rushed to the hospital.
There was one home cordoned off with what appeared to be damage to be significant damage to two garage doors. Copter4 flew over the scene with what appeared to be the doors blown off the home and debris scattered along the driveway. Fire crews were seen going into and coming out of the home.
Early indications are that the explosion was not caused by oil or gas. Crews with Black Hills Energy have cleared the scene.

Just arrived on scene of what's reported as an explosion in Firestone.
There's a distinct smell in the area...not clear what it is.

Witnesses told CBS4's Dillon Thomas that they heard the explosion about a quarter mile away.
"I hear what sounded like a clap, a metal clap, a very loud throaty explosion. Next thing I know, there was a line up of police coming right by my house," said neighbor Timothy Jolly.
Crews remain on the scene, shoring up the home.
