Havana Street Back Open In Aurora After Water Main Break

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Crews with Aurora Water worked overnight to repair a water main break on Havana Street.

It began at approximately 2:15 p.m. Monday, between East 3rd Avenue and East 6th Avenue in Aurora. Southbound lanes of Havana Street were reduced to one lane as repairs lasted through the day and into the night.

Some businesses were without water overnight, but crews were able to arrange alternate hookups so businesses could open Tuesday with water.

The pipe is 30 inches in diameter, and the size is part of why the repair job is taking longer than crews would like.

The water main was fixed and Havana Street was reopened Tuesday afternoon.
