Repair Efforts Continue In Fort Collins After Hailstorm

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Cleanup and repairs are continuing in Fort Collins after hail on Tuesday caused damage to homes, businesses and cars.

Krystal Valencia and her neighbors in Harmony Park are dealing with extensive damage, from shattered windows and dented cars to torn roofing and siding.

"There was about a foot of water all around my house, and so now now my house is going to start to sink," she said, pointing to her house.

Tammy Velleman, another resident of Harmony Park, said there is flooding damage in her house.

"The skylight is broken. It has a huge hole in it," she said. "It was pouring water in my bathroom. The bathroom was flooded."

Hail damage kept a nearby Safeway closed most of the day Wednesday as contractors worked to repair holes in the roof and cracked tiles inside.

Other Fort Collins businesses are mopping up several inches of water from the heavy rain, and it's likely insurance companies and repair shops will be getting several calls over the next few days.
