Lockout Lifted For Overland High, Regis Remains Under Secure Perimeter

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Regis Jesuit High School and Overland High Schools were placed on lockout Wednesday morning. The secure perimeter would remain in effect for Regis the rest of Wednesday but Overland's lockout was lifted.

The Regis Jesuit school is located near Parker and Arapahoe Roads in Aurora. Overland is located at 12400 East Jewell Avenue in Aurora.

What prompted the lockouts was a threat against each school but Aurora police said the threat was deemed not credible. During the investigation the schools were placed on lockout as a precaution.

Police tweeted an update on the situation.

One student at Regis Jesuit told CBS4 that classes are in session as scheduled.

The national letter of intent signings at Regis scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed until Thursday.

Police officers remained at both campuses on Wednesday.
