Red Flag Warning Issued For Eastern Colorado

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) — Much of eastern Colorado is under a red flag warning because of expected gusty winds and dry weather.

Tuesday's warning area includes the areas in and around Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Canon City, Akron and Eads.

The National Weather Service has put the warning in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Officials say relative humidity is expected to be as low as 12 percent and wind gusts could be up to 35 mph. Those conditions combined with warm temperatures can create extreme fire behavior and rapid rates of fire spreading.
