Recall Election Set For Snowmass Councilman After Damage Inside Jail

SNOWMASS, Colo. (CBS4)- The town clerk of Snowmass says the recall election of a city councilman will move forward after he was caught on video causing thousands of dollars damage to a jail.

Councilman Chris Jacobson will be the subject of the recall election scheduled for Oct. 13.

Residents began to push for his recall after the release of a video that shows Jacobson's bizarre behavior at the Pitkin County Jail following a DUI arrest.

The video shows Jacobson tearing out a section of the cell's wall and pulling wiring out of a light socket. He caused more than $14,000 in damage.

Video posted to YouTube shows the damage.
