Rapids Kick Off Season On Saturday With New Head Coach

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado Rapids kick off the season this Saturday against the New York Red Bulls with new head coach Pablo Mastroeni.

Mastroeni just retired as a player and now he's the coach.

"I think the one benefit of hiring people that leave the game is that they're in touch with the culture of the group and I think some ideologies that existed back in the day aren't relevant today," Mastroeni said.

"I think these people are more in tune with the guys in the locker room which helps."

The game kicks off at 2 p.m. at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
