Rally Held For Man Shot In Rocky Ford

ROCKY FORD, Colo. (AP) - A crowd of about 200 people attended a rally in Rocky Ford for a man shot to death a week ago by a police officer.

The event was held Saturday to remember 27-year-old Jack Jacquez, who was shot in his home by Rocky Ford Police officer James Ashby on Oct. 12.

The event drew a number of people protesting the shooting. A memorial was set up in Barnes Park next to the police station.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is handling the case while Ashby is on administrative leave.
