Rain, Snow And Even Grasshoppers For Colorado Weekend

DENVER (AP) — Colorado is plagued with rain, snow and even grasshoppers for the Colorado weekend.

Authorities have issued warnings of roads across the state closed due to flooding, campgrounds being closed and there is snow in the mountains.

Some campgrounds along the Front Range closed some of their campsites, and there are a number of cancellations.

Hikers are being told to walk in the mud on some trails to avoid damaging vegetation.

Colorado State University entomologist Bob Hammon says he was surprised at the number of grasshoppers hatching near Steamboat Springs this year. Farmers, ranchers and residents are worried about damage to vegetation and are asking Routt County for help.
