Rain Barrels, Pot Couriers Among New Colorado Laws

DENVER (AP) — It's now legal to do some things many Coloradans already do.

New laws taking effect in Colorado Wednesday include one allowing residential rain barrels and another saying it's OK to leave an unattended car running as long as the owner has a remote-start system.

Colorado generally says that bills signed by the governor take effect 90 days after the state Legislature finishes work. This year, that date is August 10.

Other new laws include issuing a license for transporting marijuana and new protections for pregnant women in the workplace.

There's also a law clarifying that a prison cell does not count as a home when it comes to using deadly force to protect against an intruder.
