Railroad Tracks Repaired After Rock Slide Near Silverton

SILVERTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Repairs have been made to Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad after a rock slide damaged the tracks. Train service has been returned to normal.

The rock and debris were found Thursday morning on the rails at milepost 481.6, approximately 14 miles south of Silverton. Rails and track bed were damaged which prevented the train from reaching its destination town of Silverton.

Crews cleaned up the debris and repaired the track. Train service returned to normal on Saturday.
