Raccoon Released Back Into Wild After Jar Cut From Neck

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- A raccoon is back in the wild after a broken glass jar was removed from its neck.

Wildlife officers say the raccoon was discovered near a dumpster in the alley of the 2500 block of Pine Street on Monday with the remains of a glass jar around its neck.

Officers say the raccoon had broken most of the jar but was left with a jagged rim.

Animal control officers tranquilized the raccoon and used bolt cutters to remove the rest of the jar.

He was released back into the wild a few hours later.
