Puffs Of Smoke May Be Visible As Crews Detonate WWII Explosives On Green Mountain

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Crews were back at William Frederick Hayden Park on Green Mountain on Thursday to detonate explosives from World War II.

The devices are left over from artillery training in the 1940s. People started noticing the buried explosives after a grass fire six years ago.

The City of Lakewood says to expect some trails to be closed Thursday and some noise from detonations. There also may be small puffs of smoke visible.
