Police Kill Suspect Who Wounded Officer In Pueblo

DENVER (AP) — One man is dead after being shot by police in southern Colorado. In Denver, police say a carjacking suspect fired at police leading one officer to return fire early Wednesday.

Police in Pueblo say officers shot and killed a man who fired at them during a chase late Tuesday. One of the officers was shot in both legs and taken to the hospital. Police say his injuries don't appear to be life threatening.

Police say the officers tried to contact the man at an apartment complex parking lot when he ran from them.

In Denver, police say one of the carjacking suspects appeared to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound. They say another suspect arrested with him had minor injuries from a police dog.
