Public Pot Smoking Petitions Making Rounds In Denver

DENVER (CBS4)- Voters in Denver could face another marijuana issue on this fall's ballot. This time about public pot smoking. Supporters of the Denver ballot initiative started collecting signatures on Thursday.

"One of our real concerns is a number of tourists who talk about how they have no place to go. We've heard complaints of people smoking in their hotel rooms or streets, parks or other things because there's no venue," said attorney Christian Sederberg.

On Thursday the group behind the proposal, the Marijuana Policy Project, starting collecting signatures for the ballot proposal.

They must collect more than 4,700 valid signatures by August to get the measure on the ballot.
