Prized Free Agent With Broncos Now A Wanted Man

DENVER (CBS4)- A prized free agent pickup for the Denver Broncos is now a wanted man. Police are trying to convince TJ Ward to turn himself in after an altercation at a strip club.

The warrant stems from a scuffle that allegedly happened at PT's near Havana and Hampden where he is wanted for assault and disturbing the peace.

"I haven't played too many prime time games. I'm definitely excited to get on that prime time stage," said Broncos Safety T.J. Ward when he was first introduced as a Denver Bronco.

Now he's in the spotlight for another reason. Police in Denver are searching for Ward in connection to an incident at a strip club earlier this month.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Terrell R. Ward; a misdemeanor charge described as both assault and disturbing the peace.

A Denver Police Department spokesman confirms that "a warrant was issued. We have been working with him to turn himself in. It's a misdemeanor assault."

A spokesperson for the Denver Broncos confirms, "We have been aware of this issue and will continue to review all of the facts."

Ward inked a $23 million contract with the Broncos this year. He previously played for the Cleveland Browns from 2010-2013.

Repeated attempts to contact Ward were unsuccessful.

Two years ago Ward was apparently in a fight outside of a nightclub in Los Angeles. He was not arrested in connection with that case.
