Prize Goat Missing From Weld County Fair

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- A prize goat has gone missing from the Weld County Fair but was still sold at an auction.

The goat was at the fairgrounds in Greeley when it disappeared sometime before the Junior Livestock Sale on Sunday.

The goat has unusual markings for its breed, earning it the Grand Champion title. It is a red-colored goat with a white stripe around its middle.

It's not known if the goat was taken or somehow got out on its own. Two of the goat's halters are also missing.

The Greeley Tribune reports the goat sold at auction for $5,500. The buyers were aware it was missing.
