PrideFest Celebrates Heritage And Culture Of LGBT Community

DENVER (CBS4)- PrideFest kicked off in Denver on Saturday, one of the largest in the nation with more than 325,000 people expected in Civic Center Park to celebrate.

This year's festivities mark the 40th anniversary of PrideFest, which celebrates the heritage and culture of the LGBT community.

In Civic Center Park, there are more than 250 vendors offering crafts, arts, food and beverages along with live entertainment.

The PrideFest parade is scheduled at Cheesman Park at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and continues through the streets of Denver and ends at Civic Center Park.

Also on Sunday, Gov. John Hickenlooper and Sen. Michael Bennet will speak at noon at the Greek Amphitheatre in Civic Center Park.

PrideFest continues at Civic Center Park from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
