Power Outages Fall To 3,000 On Friday

DENVER (CBS4)- After the largest single-day power outage in Colorado due to the blizzard on Wednesday, Xcel Energy crews were able to restore power to all but 3,000 people by Friday afternoon.

Xcel Energy estimates that more than 320,000 customers lost power. Some 290 crews and 1,000 field employees continue to work to restore power.

Xcel Energy estimates everyone should be back online by Friday evening.

Xcel spokesman Mark Stutz released this statement regarding power outages: "Xcel Energy has completed or will soon complete all restoration work on all known outage from the Wednesday winter storm. We realize, however, that some customers may not have contacted the company or may have been out of town during the storm. We are asking all customers currently without service to immediately contact the company at www.xcelenergy.com and report their outage at (800) 895-4999. Please call even if you have contacted the company previously."
