Portland State Shocks Northern Colorado 80-57

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Gary Winston finished with 19 points and six assists and Portland State beat Northern Colorado 80-57 Thursday night.

Winston scored the final five points in a 14-4 run by Portland State (10-8, 5-4 Big Sky) to open the game. Connor Osborne pulled Northern Colorado within nine, 28-17, with 5:34 left in the first half but Winston knocked down a 3-pointer to spark a 15-5 run to close out the period. The Vikings led 43-22 at the intermission.

Portland State, which shot 54.7 percent (29 of 53) from the floor and 47.4 percent (9 of 19) from 3-point range, led by as many as 27.

Marcus Hall scored 17 points and Kyle Richardson added 16 in the win.

Derrick Barden finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Bears (13-5, 7-2), who made 22 of 56 (39.3 percent) field goals and 2 of 15 (13.3 percent) from deep.
